Jamie T is forever tied to summer for me. Every time summer comes around I have both his albums on repeat like clockwork. That’s something I love so much about music - the emotion or memories associated with just a song or album.

Plus, he was really good friends with Adele when she was coming up in the music scene…if that’s not pretty damn cool.

Jamie T - “The Man’s Machine”

Lykke Li - “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?”

Her voice, it’s just…amazing.

"And every once in awhile I’d sing a song for you. It would rise above the mountains and the stars and the sea. And if I wanted it to, it would lead you back to me."

First Aid Kit - “Lions Roar”

Beautiful lyrics from a beautiful album.

Empire Of The Sun - “Walking On A Dream”

Luke Steele is amazing live, I had the chance to see them last fall. The energy in the atmosphere is unreal.

Corinne Bailey Rae - “I Would Like To Call It Beauty”

Beautiful song for a beautiful Monday.

Etta James - “Sunday Kind of Love”

And my arms need someone
Someone to enfold
To keep me warm when Mondays and Tuesdays grow cold
Love for all my life to have and to hold
Oh and I want a Sunday kind of love

Bloc Party - “Ion Square”

This is why I love music. The beautiful lyrics, building track and just raw emotion of this song give me chills every time. Take a listen if you have 7 minutes to spare.

"Who said unbroken happiness
Is a bore, is a bore?
Who said it, my love? I don’t mind it
Anymore, anymore

And I reach out a hand over your side of the bed
Pull that blanket over your shoulders exposed to the night
And the hunger of those early years will never return
But I don’t mind, I don’t mind

'Cause I love my mind when I'm fucking you
Slowed down to a crawl
Years of crime and the bread line
Have not at all dimmed your shine

So let’s stay in, let the sofa be our car
Let’s stay in, let the TV be our stars
I found my dancing shoes but they don’t fit
All the bright lights do is bore me
They bore me

I carry your heart here with me
I carry it in my heart
I carry your heart with me
I carry it in my heart”
