Bloc Party returns with another album. The rawness of this new album is pretty refreshing. Not as good as their previous outings but as a die hard Blochead, I love it. This song is a beautiful gem on the jewel encrusted crown that is their albums.
So Bloc Party has announced their fourth album, aptly titled: Four. Frontman, Kele Okereke has posted a beautiful insight to the journey and culmination of both his and Bloc Party’s past couple of years.
Along with this blog, which can be found here, the band released a trailer of sorts to promote the new album. I’d being lying if I said I didn’t get misty eyed when watching/reading all this news. This band means a lot to me in weird, almost spiritual way if that doesn’t sound cheesy enough. So check it out, and if you haven’t heard any of their tunes, check those out too.
Kele Okereke, a personal hero of mine from arguably the best band in the universe (don’t try me), covered this issue of Advocate magazine. Over the years he’s become more and more open about his sexuality and it’s great to see him address it on a massive scale. Love ya, Kele!
